Trailer King · Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Trailer King is a demolition-derby King of the Hill game for one to four players on one screen, published by BYOK Games (byok.games). This policy explains the little data the game handles.

What the game stores on your device

Your settings (sound, difficulty, controls, camera), the display name you choose, a random device identifier used to keep your best score in one place, and an offline copy of your recent match results. This lives in the app's local storage and never leaves your device except as described below.

What is sent to our server

When a match starts, the game asks our server at byok.games for a one-time ticket, sending only the random device identifier; when a match ends and you have entered a display name, it sends the match result to our leaderboard: your display name, the random device identifier, your score and the match statistics (crowns, knock-offs, rams, hold time, difficulty, number of rivals, match length). Your IP address is seen by the server as part of the normal web request and is used only for rate limiting; it is not stored with your score or shown to anyone.

Leaderboards are public: other players can see your display name, score and match statistics. Do not use your real name if you would rather stay anonymous.

Replays and photos are only sent anywhere when you choose to share them, with one exception below. If you tap Share Replay, the replay file (where the cars were during that match, the cars' paint and numbers, and your display name) is uploaded to byok.games and anyone with the link can watch it. We keep a one-way hash of the network address with the upload for a day, only to limit abuse. Replays are deleted after about a year. Photos are made on your device and go only to the app you pick in the share sheet.

The exception: if a score you post makes the top 20 of a leaderboard, that match's replay (the same file as above) is uploaded with it, so anyone looking at the board can watch it. It stays for as long as the score is on a board, and is then deleted like any other replay. Turn this off in Options › Game (“Top runs on the board”).

Display names are filtered, and you can report a name from the leaderboard. A report sends the name you reported; we keep a one-way hash of the network address with the report until it has been dealt with, only so that one person counts once. The name is hidden on your device straight away, and for everyone once enough people have reported it or we have looked at it.

If the game hits an error, it sends us a short crash report so we can fix it: the error message, the script file and line where it happened, the game's build, and the kind of browser and system (for example "Chrome on Android"). It contains no name and no identifier.

The game also counts a few things about how far people get, so we know which parts are working: that a session started, the kind of device (touch or desktop, roughly how big the screen is, app or browser), which website the link was followed from if there was one (only its name, never the page), whether this browser had opened the game before, whether you reached the menu, started a match, took a crown or won one, and at the end roughly how many matches you played and roughly how long you stayed. There is no identifier of any kind in this — no name, no device id, no cookie, no fingerprint — and the times and counts are rounded into wide bands. The server only adds one to a tally; it does not keep a record of your visit, so nothing can be traced back to you or joined up with another visit. Turn it off in Options › Game (“Share play stats”), and it is never sent if your browser asks not to be tracked.

What we do not do

Children

The game does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only free-text field is the display name, and we ask everyone to avoid entering personal details there.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the app or clearing site data removes everything stored on your device. To have a leaderboard entry or a shared replay removed, email us with the display name or the replay link and we will delete it.
